Harrabi Frankincense from Nigeria
This is a little known and rather rare Nigerian incense resin of the genus Boswellia dalzielii. Nigeria is a West African country where the use of frankincense resin is less traditional. This resin is therefore less used although it is of very high quality. It contains a lot of essential oil and boswellic acid.
The pieces are clean, light in colour, with greenish highlights, quite similar to Omani Royal Hojari frankincense. The fragrance is intense with notes of citrus and mint. It is also reminiscent of Carterii or Sacra type resins.
The resin is clean but contains some wood and bark residues. It is nevertheless clearly a high quality frankincense to be discovered without delay.
